a5c7b9f00b In a world rife with deadly creatures called &quot;youma&quot;, a young silver eyed woman, Clare, works on behalf of an organization that trains female youma halfbreeds into warriors with the ability to destroy these creatures. Considered a rogue for picking up a stray child and almost losing herself to her youma side by &quot;Awakening&quot;, she is constantly assigned rather dangerous missions. This could have been a great show. It has lots going for it: atmosphere, great fights, interesting story, interesting characters. The main problem is the incredible amount of whining, mostly done by one of the main characters, Raki. This sort of cheap sentimentalism is quite common in Asian movie series (especially Indian and Korean), but I was hoping Japanese were less susceptible to it. The other problem is that the monsters get too powerfulthe series approaches the end. I can&#39;t see how that adds to the story. I could see this series going fine for one more season, but for the stupid ending. Even with these huge flaws, the show is really worth watching. Hopefully, it will get remade in a three season show with proper ending and less cringe worthy sentimentalism.<br/><br/>Edit: Manga seems a lot better than the cartoon. The story reaches a satisfying conclusion and Raki although still useless, doesn&#39;t get too much in the way. My hope both from the manga and the cartoon was a little more development of Teresa&#39;s character. It feels to me like the missed opportunity. If I were the one to remake the anime, I&#39;d remove Raki completely. I&#39;d play more on the Clare&#39;s longing for Teresa&#39;s presence than on her hatred for Priscilla. Finally, both manga and the anime have precious few Teresa moments. Teresa is a special character in that she is a goddess. Her psychology is a lot similar to that of Superman (the one in the Richard Donner movie). The anime and manga seriously underplay her connection with Clare to whom she is like an older protective sister. I also wish for the sake of action to see more Teresa fights - broughtflashbacks.<br/><br/>So, 7 for what it is and 10 for what it could have been. This TV show, Claymore in English, is a great show that many should watch for its entertaining and compelling content. It is set in a medieval world where humans co-exist with bloodthirsty yoma (demons). The only way to stop these monsters is to call upon the fearful half-yoma/half-human women warriors named after their main weapon: the Claymore. This show follows the story of one Claymore, Clare,she slays demons with a young human boy, Raki, that lost his family to the yoma. This is not just any &quot;monster of the week&quot; type of show: character development is a key part of the story and it gets more and more interesting with every episode. This is still a good show to watch for those not that familiar with the Japanese Anime genre. Even though I am not an anime fan, I can still say that it is one of my favorite TV series if not the best. This anime series is definitely not fun and fuzzy like Pokemon or Inuyasha, nor is it full of filler episodes like Dragonball Z where its takes a whole day to watch somebody go super quadruple invincible God Mode. There is action in every episode and you will not be disappointed. Be careful, there is a lot of blood and gore present in the series: it is not a show for the faint-hearted.
